(TVU) – On January 6th, Prof. Dr. Pham Tiet Khanh – Secretary of the Party Committee and Chairman of the School Council, chaired the ninth meeting of the School Council of Tra Vinh University. The meeting approved many important contents about the development strategy of Tra Vinh University.
At the meeting, there were the attendance of Mr. Le Thanh Binh – Standing member of the Provincial Party Committee and Vice Chairman of Tra Vinh Provincial People’s Committee, members of the School Council, Board of Directors, leaders of the Advisory Council, and leaders of units of Tra Vinh University.
In his opening speech, Prof. Dr. Pham Tiet Khanh said: “This meeting is to review the implementation results of 2023, and at the same time approve many important contents related to the implementation of the University Council’s Resolution.”
At the meeting, the professional committees of the School Council approved the report on the implementation of the School Council’s decisions after the eighth meeting; reported the results of supervision in the fourth quarter of 2023, the results of the School Council’s activities in 2023, and the School Council’s work plan in 2024.
The School Board of Directors approved the submissions for these following proposals:
The proposal of regulations on the organization and operation of the Analysis and Testing Center;
The proposal on approving the Regulations on the organization and operation of the Logistics and E-commerce Training Center;
The proposal on promulgation of science and technology development strategy until 2030;
The proposal on approving revenue and expenditure estimates for 2024 and procurement investment plan for the 2024-2026 period;
The proposal on the establishment of the Department of Physical Education based on the Department of Physical Education under the Faculty of Basic Sciences;
The proposal on promulgating regulations on awarding the title of Honorary Doctor and Honorary Professor of Tra Vinh University;
The proposal on approving Regulations on recruitment, employment, and management of public officials and Regulations on training and fostering for public officials and employees;
The proposal on requesting a policy to develop a project to install a hemodialysis system at Tra Vinh University hospital;
The proposal on requesting amendments to some contents in Resolution No. 08/NQ-HDT dated May 25th, 2023, of the School Council on promulgating the Financial Regulations of Tra Vinh University.
The Board of Directors reported to the School Council the results of revenue and expenditure in 2023, the results of plan adjustments fitting development needs and the need to expand the area of Tra Vinh University, the progress of the project to build an advanced university; and the project on personnel organization autonomy of Tra Vinh University.
The School Council Office passed the draft of a Resolution on strengthening the personnel of departments; drafted a Resolution to establish the Standing Council of Tra Vinh University, term 2021 – 2025; drafted the Work Program of the School Council in 2024; drafted the Supervisory Program of the School Board in 2024; Proposed the School Council committees to implement the School Council’s Supervision Plan in 2024 in the next meeting.
In the discussion and comments section, School Board members focused on giving opinions on opening new enrollment major codes in 2024 and considering the conditions for establishing member schools of Tra Vinh University, such as School of Medicine and Pharmacy, School of Engineering and Technology based on the Faculty of Engineering and Technology and School of Agriculture and Fisheries based on the Faculty of Agriculture and Fisheries.
Based on the comments of the Advisory Council, members of the School Council, and delegates, the members voted to agree on implementing several contents according to the proposal of the Board of Directors. At the same time, the Professional departments and units continue to research, review, and supplement processes and document systems and complete them according to regulations.
Concluding the meeting, Prof. Dr. Pham Tiet Khanh highly appreciated the results of the meeting, acknowledged the comments of the members, and requested the Board of Directors and professional committees to coordinate additional research and complete the contributions at the meeting and submit them to the School Council for consideration and approval.
