The second Conference of the Vietnam Association of Community Colleges, term 2011-2016

In the morning of September 16, 2011 at Ha Tay Community College (in Ha Noi), Vietnam Association of Community Colleges (VACC) held the Second Conference of VACC to evaluate the results of the previous term (2006-2011) and to plan the tasks of the term 2011-2016.

The Conference was attended by Prof. Dr. Bui Van Ga, Deputy Minister of Education and Training; representatives form the Ministry of Home Affairs and representatives from all of VACC’s members.

VACC was established in September 2006 with 10 members and has grown to 46 members up to now. VACC operates for the benefits and growth of all members and strives to promote the development of “lifelong learning” model. The good result of the model helps people understand clearly about the community model in the development of human resource and economy of the country.

During the term 2006-2011, VACC’s Executive Committee and its members overcame many challe nges to fulfill their tasks and achieved remarkable  success and made strong contributions into the development of Vietnam’s economy and society.

The Conference continued to affirm: Promoting the closer relationship among members of VACC; implementing international projects; promoting the active roles of the Association.

At the Conference, a new Executive Committee of VACC with 47 members was elected. Dr. Pham Tiet Khanh, Rector of Tra Vinh University was re- elected as President of VACC for the new term. Dr. Nguyen Minh Chau was elected as General Secretary of VACC. They are all typical teachers, enthusiastic and willing to develop VACC with the community model in Vietnam.
