TVU – In the atmosphere where children across the country are excitedly welcoming the Mid-Autumn Festival in 2023, students of Tra Vinh University organize lively and meaningful activities for children. The activities take place from August 28 to September 29, 2023.
Ms. Pham Le Phuong Thao, Standing Member of the Provincial Youth Union, Secretary of the School’s Youth Union, and Chairwoman of the Tra Vinh University Student Association, said: The event aims to enhance the responsibility of family, school, community, and society towards protecting, caring for and educating children, with the desire to organize activities for children to play and welcome the Mid-Autumn festival in a cheerful and happy atmosphere.
The event attracts many enthusiastic union members and students to participate, with fundraising programs to support disadvantaged children, gift and mooncake giving, organizing art performances with children to celebrate the Mid-Autumn festival in communes and wards, and spreading to districts and towns.
Specifically, the Student Association Chapter of Cau Ke district, in coordination with Vinh Xuong mooncake manufacturing facility, opens a booth selling mooncakes to raise funds for disadvantaged children, while distributing 200 gifts to preschoolers of Thong Hoa Kindergarten, Cau Ke, with total budget of 10 million VND.
The Student Association Chapter of Tieu Can district organizes an art performance program entitled “Warm Mid-Autumn – Sending Love” at Hung Hoa B Primary School – Tieu Can, Tra Vinh province. At the event, the Chapter organizes interactive games with students, performs greeting art performances for Mid-Autumn, and gifts over 430 presents including cakes, candies and lanterns to disadvantaged students, with a total budget of nearly 14 million VND.
The Student Association Chapter of Chau Thanh district gifts 90 presents to children at Cồn Cò hamlet, Hưng Mỹ commune, Châu Thành district with a total value of over 5 million VND.
On August 27, the Communication Club organizes the “Warm Moonlight” night 2023 at Thanh Thoi A High School (Mo Cay Nam, Ben Tre) and gifts nearly 5 million VND to students and many fun art activities.
In Ngai Xuyen commune (Tra Cu) and Long Duc commune (Tra Vinh city), a group of students from the Volunteer Youth Club has supported 50 gifts and cash worth nearly 16 million VND to disadvantaged children.
These activities help bring a meaningful Mid-Autumn festival to disadvantaged children. The program is funded by donations from benefactors, brothers, sisters and student friends of the University.
