From 11th to 14th of June, 2012, the Delegation of Tra Vinh University (TVU) led by Mr. Nguyen Tien Dung- TVU Vice Rector paid a visit and worked at Southern Leyte State University (SLSU).
During the visit, TVU’s Delegation was guided to tour the facilities of SLSU and shared some researching activities such as plant tissue growing, farming and aquaculture, especially the transferring of technology for farmers.
Also on this visit, the Delegation made a tour around the production facilities of the local farmers who have applied the combination model between breeding, farming and ecotourism transferred by SLSU.
Introduced by SLSU, the Delegation of TVU met and worked with Philippine Coconut Authority where the techniques of implanting coconut sap sugar embryo and processing the products from coconut sap sugar were carried out successfully.
On June 19th, 2012, TVU’s Delegation worked with PCRDF (Philippine Coconut Research and Development Foundation). At the meeting, TVU and PCRDF discussed and came into mutual agreement on collaborating to do some researches in the coming time.
The visit to SLSU helped the collaboration between TVU and SLSU be closer through the specific researches on agriculture of the two universities and brought a new opportunity for TVU to collaborate with Philippine Coconut Authority. In the same time, it also helped the research staff of TVU have a chance to share and to learn experiences with the research staff of SLSU.
