TVU – On November 30, 2022, Tra Vinh University held the local level acceptance committee for the ministerial-level scientific research project “Research on coconut propagation by cell culture technology and coconut intensive farming techniques to grow cell culture” by Dr. Pham Thi Phuong Thuy is the chairperson.
Attending the acceptance ceremony, there was Dr. Thach Thi Dan, Vice Rector of Tra Vinh University; MSc. Chau Thi Truc Ly, Head of Financial Planning Department, MSc. Phan Thanh Hien, Deputy Head of the Science and Technology Department, and members of the Project Management Board.
The local level acceptance and assessment council includes Assoc.Prof.Dr. Nguyen Minh Chon, Can Tho University; Prof. Dr. Le Huy Ham, former Director, Agricultural Genetics Institute; Assoc.Prof.Dr. Nguyen Bao Toan, Can Tho Ornamental Creature Association; Dr. Hoang Thi Giang, Agricultural Genetics Institute; Dr. Pham Thi Ly Thu, Agricultural Genetics Institute; MSc. Lam Quang Thao, Tra Vinh Agricultural Extension Center; Dr. Nghi Khac Nhu and MSc. Pham Thi Bich Ngoc, Tra Vinh University.
Dr. Pham Thi Phuong Thuy, Deputy Head of the Department of Science and Technology has been the leader of the research project, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Pham Van Dong, Agricultural Genetics Institute has been the leader of the branch topic and the lecturer of the School of Agriculture and Aquaculture. The content of the research project has been carried out from June 2017 to now.
At the acceptance, Dr. Pham Thi Phuong Thuy presented a summary of the ministerial-level scientific research project to the Council for acceptance and evaluation of the scientific research project. Ms. Thuy presented in detail the goal of the topic to research and apply cell culture technology, combined with farming solutions to preserve, store, propagate and develop some coconut varieties with high quality for high economic value to serve the agricultural restructuring program and new rural development in Tra Vinh province.
The research project was evaluated and accepted by the Council and commented on a number of contents that need to be supplemented and adjusted to make this work more complete and have high value in practice. The project leader and the group of members acquire the contributions from the Council and will complete this scientific work in accordance with the prescribed content and time.
In addition, the project was highly appreciated by the Council because it has got many outstanding results compared to the explanation such as the topic has registered to protect 02 intellectual property products including 1 useful solution and 1 patent; 01 processes recognized by the Department of Crop Production for scientific and technical progress; published 2 monographs; successfully guide a Ph.D. student. The Council proposes the ministerial-level acceptance committee continue to allow advanced research and implementation for the next phase.
