Tra Vinh implements a project on prevention of infectious diseases through oral care for primary school pupils

Tra Vinh University and Daishinkai Dental Group, Japan implement a “Project on prevention of infectious diseases through oral care for primary school pupils in Tra Vinh city”

This project is one of the results of the visit to Aichi province by the leaders of Tra Vinh province, based on the signing of a memorandum of understanding between Prof. Ph.D. Doctor Natsume Nagato – Honorary Consul of Vietnam in Aichi and leaders of Tra Vinh province.

This project is piloted in Tra Vinh City for 5 years, from 2021-2025, with about 9,000 primary school pupils participating. Each year, there will be three visits to the schools for (1) dental checking – data recording, (2) dental education.

The dental checkup schedule is agreed between Tra Vinh University and Tra Vinh Department of Education and Training (DOET). Plans are scheduled for March, September, and December each year, however, due to actual situation, the schedule may change.

The members of the dental checkup team are lecturers and students of the School of Odonto – Stomatology (Tra Vinh University), the Japanese specialists from Daishinkai Dental Group.

There are 17 primary schools in Tra Vinh city that have examined oral health for pupils.
