Tra Vinh University and Samar State University jointly organize the International Conference iPOVCON 2024

TVU – Tra Vinh University takes a significant step in international collaboration as it signs an online cooperation agreement with Samar State University, Philippines, on September 12, 2024. The agreement focuses on jointly organizing the International Conference for Poverty Alleviation and Sustainable Development (iPOVCON 2024).

Representing Tra Vinh University at the virtual signing ceremony are key figures, including Dr. Chau Thi Hoang Hoa, Head of the Project Promotion Department; Dr. Nguyen Huy Thong, Deputy Director of the Institute of International Training; Dr. Le Truc Linh,  Head of the School of Agriculture and Aquaculture; and Dr. Nguyen Tan Dat, Vice-Principal of the College of Economics and Law.

The Samar State University delegation is led by Dr. Redentor S. Palencia, Rector, and senior staff, including Dr. Mirador G. Labrador, Vice-Rector, and heads of various departments.

Dr. Redentor S. Palencia highlights the significance of the 5th iPOVCON, which also marks the 8th national-level conference in the Philippines. He emphasizes the conference’s role in promoting sustainable community development both regionally and internationally, expressing optimism about the future of the partnership between the two institutions.

Speaking on behalf of Tra Vinh University, Dr. Chau Thi Hoang Hoa expresses appreciation for the university’s longstanding friendship. She conveys TVU’s honor in being chosen as a partner for this prestigious international conference. Tra Vinh University commits to sending delegates to present and share research findings at the event as part of the agreement.

The 5th International Conference on Poverty Reduction and Sustainable Development is scheduled for October 16-17, 2024, in Tacloban City, Leyte Province, Philippines. The conference theme, “Enhancing community capacity through sustainable development initiatives and solutions: Harnessing change for inclusive growth,” reflects the joint commitment of both universities to addressing critical global challenges.

This collaboration underscores Tra Vinh University’s growing role in international academic partnerships and its dedication to contributing to solutions for poverty alleviation and sustainable development on a global scale.
