(TVU) – On September 28 and 29, 2023, Tra Vinh University lecturers attended the 16th National Conference on Fundamental and Applied Information Technology – FAIR 2023, with the theme “Data Science in Digital Transformation” held by the Vietnam Union of Science and Technology Associations, Vietnam Academy of Science and Technology in collaboration with the University of Technology and Education – The University of Da Nang.
The event attracted more than 200 delegates and more than 100 students from agencies, research institutes, and universities researching information technology in the country.
According to the Organizing Committee, there were 155 scientific articles from authors/author groups from nearly 100 universities and research institutes nationwide. Each article was evaluated by 02 independent reviewers. The Organizing Committee selected 96 excellent articles to report and discuss directly in 06 subcommittees, including Artificial Intelligence and Applications; Data Science; Information System; Image Processing and Computer Vision; Natural Language Processing; and Network and Computer Engineering.
At the conference, Tra Vinh University had 03 reports in the Network and Computer Engineering subcommittee, of which 01 report was included in the list of 09 papers nominated for the Conference’s Best Paper award.
At the plenary session, there were 04 scientific reports from practical research results of guests, including Prof. Dr. Le Thanh Nhan (Professor of Côte d’Azur University, Director of DNIIT Institute – the University of Da Nang), Prof. Dr. Tu Minh Phuong (Posts and Telecommunications Institute of Technology), Associate Professor, Ph.D. Huynh Thi Thanh Binh (Hanoi University of Science and Technology) and Associate Professor, Ph.D. Duong Tuan Anh (Ho Chi Minh City University of Foreign Languages and Information Technology).
Associate Professor, Ph.D. Nguyen Thai Son, Director of the Institute for Resource Development, Tra Vinh University, said: “The FAIR is a prestigious scientific conference and a place where researchers and lecturers announce, discuss, and evaluate the situation, basic research, development and application of information technology in Vietnam. I highly appreciate the quality and quantity of papers at this year’s conference.”
