TVU – In collaboration with Party Cell 15 and the Tra Vinh Provincial Tourism Promotion Center, Tra Vinh University’s Institute of International Training has launched a series of English communication training courses for local communities. The sessions, held on September 7 and 8, 2024, target residents in Con Ho (Duc My commune, Cang Long district) and Con Chim (Hoa Minh commune, Chau Thanh district), aiming to enhance service quality and sustainable tourism development.
The training attracts numerous participants, including households registered for tourism businesses in Tra Vinh province. Attendees receive instruction in basic English vocabulary, sentence structures, and skills for handling interactions with international tourists. The course also introduces common French phrases, offering a diverse language experience.
Participants from both tourist destinations demonstrate enthusiasm for learning and express interest in future training opportunities to improve their communication skills further, recognizing the growing importance of international tourism.
By conducting these sessions at tourist sites, the organizers provide immediate practical application opportunities for trainees. This approach also allows the university to better understand local needs and resources, raising awareness about the importance of professional tourism services. The initiative aims to contribute to Tra Vinh’s image as a friendly, nature-harmonious province that preserves and promotes national cultural values.
In recent years, Tra Vinh province has been actively investing in and improving human resources in the tourism sector, creating new job opportunities and fostering socio-economic development. With their natural beauty and typical Southern culture, Con Ho and Con Chim are emerging as potential hotspots for experiential tourism, offering activities such as exploring indigenous ecosystems, enjoying local cuisine, and learning about life in the Mekong Delta.
