(TVU) – In annual March-April, Tra Vinh University (TVU) celebrates Chôl – Chnăm – Thmây which is one of traditional festivals of Khmer people. This year’s event has been taken place with a variety of exciting and meaningful activities, attracting the participation of thousands of students, staff and teachers.
“I am very happy to be a representative of Cambodian overseas students at Tra Vinh University to take part in the singing contest in the welcome of Chôl – Chnam – Thmây festival. This is my unforgettable moment in Vietnam”, a Cambodian student happily expressed.
“This festival gives chances for students, especially Khmer students and Cambodian overseas students to join cultural and arts exchange activities”, said Mr. Phan Huu Phuc, Head of TVU Student Dormitory.
TVU Vice Rector Thach Thi Dan emphasized: “The celebration of welcome to Chôl – Chnam – Thmây 2018, which is one of ways to preserve and develop Khmer culture and arts values, has taken place successfully with many performances, attracting many students including high school students and Cambodian overseas students.”
On this occasion, the university offered 14 scholarships with 500,000 VND/each to disadvantaged students.
