Tra Vinh University celebrates the 92nd Anniversary of Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union

(TVU) – On March 25, the traditional campfire to celebrate the 92nd founding anniversary of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union (March 26, 1931 – March 26, 2023) was lit up at Tra Vinh University with the participation of more than 4000 campers.

Mr. Tran Tri Cuong, member of the Central Committee of the Youth Union and Secretary of the Tra Vinh Provincial Youth Union; Assoc. Dr. Pham Tiet Khanh, Secretary of the Party Committee and Chairman of the University Council; Assoc. Dr. Nguyen Minh Hoa, Rector of Tra Vinh University; representatives of the university’s units, and the Executive Committee of the University Youth Union were all present at the ceremony.

The camp was held from March 25 to 26, with the theme “Aspiration of Youth.” The event comprised 80 sub-camps, one specialty booth, and one start-up booth. Moreover, many interesting activities were organized, drawing a large number of campers who are union members, students, lecturers, foreign volunteers, businesses, and alumni to participate.

It was a chance for the youth union members to interact and share their union work experiences. Also, authorities, union members, and young people increased awareness and gained pride in the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union’s glorious 92-year history.

According to Ms. Pham Le Phuong Thao, Deputy Secretary of the TVU Youth Union and President of the Student Union, the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union of Tra Vinh University was founded in 2006. The university’s Youth Union now has eight grass-roots unions with more than 8,000 members in total.

The Youth Union of Tra Vinh University has contributed much to the growth of Tra Vinh University specifically as well as the Youth Union of Tra Vinh Province generally throughout its 17 years of formation and development.

With the desire for dedication, the TVU Youth Union has continued innovating the content and method of operation while also providing its members and students with the best possible political, ideological, ethical, and legal education.

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Minh Hoa, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee and Rector of Tra Vinh University, stressed during his speech that under the direction of the Communist Party of Vietnam throughout the previous 92 years, generations of young Vietnamese have successively written the glorious history of the Youth Union. Carrying on and fostering this heritage, the youth of Tra Vinh University have been trying their best to practice and promote revolutionary ideas, volunteer for community development, and effectively execute the resolution of unions at all levels.

The TVU Youth Union has been continuously expanding and changing. The union has performed excellently in bringing young people together, educating them, and applying their energy, knowledge, and enthusiasm to develop the university.

Recognizing the contributions of the Youth Union, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Minh Hoa hoped that students, union members, and leaders would innovate and diversify their operation methods while successfully promoting political, ideological, revolutionary, and cultural education for young people.

The Rector believed that the Tra Vinh University students would work well together to complete all tasks, prove themselves worthy of being a trustworthy Party reserve force, and thus contribute more and more significantly to the university’s growth and carry out the mission of constructing and defending the nation in the new situation.

The tableau of the gods of fire and darkness took place after the meeting program and attracted all of the campers to participate in the traditional campfire activities. There were other performances by the campers as well.

  

Additionally, the special appearances of The Voice Vietnam 2012’s runner-up, Xuan Nghi, and DJ Kat attracted a large crowd and received big rounds of applause. Therefore, the night’s atmosphere became more dynamic and exciting.

 

On this occasion, the Tra Vinh Military Commercial Joint Stock Bank branch offered 15 scholarships of one million VND each to students in difficult circumstances.
