TVU – From September 1 to September 29, 2024, Tra Vinh University sends two lecturers, including Dr. Huynh Van Hiep, Head of the Department of Construction, Faculty of Engineering and Technology, and Dr. Le Ngoc Long, Lecturer of the Department of Materials Science, Faculty of Applied Chemistry, to teach and study at Central Philippine University (CPU), Republic of the Philippines. After nearly a month of study and work at CPU, the two lecturers complete their tasks with remarkable results.
Dr. Huynh Van Hiep and Dr. Le Ngoc Long work with Dr. Irving Domingo L. Rio – Vice President for Academic Affairs, and Dr. Evelyn Grace Ayson – Director of the University Research Center.
On this occasion, the two sides jointly carry out several typical studies, such as:
Fabrication of MoS2 nanocomposite membranes for desalination of saline water is a highly applicable study aiming to develop sustainable desalination solutions. MoS2 nanocomposite membranes are expected to solve the problem of clean water in areas affected by saline intrusion, improving people’s lives and supporting sustainable agricultural development.
Comparative analysis of roof designs in Vietnam and the Philippines under harsh storm conditions: The topic focuses on researching and optimizing architectural solutions to enhance resilience to natural disasters, minimizing the risk of damage to structures in the two countries.
The results from these studies are not only scientifically significant but also contribute to enhancing the visibility of the two Schools’ research internationally through publication in prestigious academic journals, contributing to solving global challenges, such as climate change and the clean water crisis.
