On July 4, 2025, the “Youth Discover Green Jobs for Sustainable Planet” conference takes place at Tra Vinh University, attracting many students and young people aged 18-25 from Tra Vinh City.

The Sustainable Development with Youth Organization (SDY) collaborates with LOTUS Mekong – Tra Vinh University to organize the conference with the support of strategic partners: YECAP, Movers Programme, Skill Our Future and sponsor GREEN IN.

From LOTUS Mekong – Tra Vinh University, PhD candidate Phan Quoc Nam attends the event, while Ms. Truong Ngoc Mai – Founder represents the Sustainable Development with Youth Organization (SDY).

Speaking at the conference, Mr. Phan Quoc Nam, representative of LOTUS Mekong – Tra Vinh University, shares: “In the context of an economy linked to green transformation, sustainable development, and the increasing need to raise career awareness among young people, organizing the ‘Youth Discover Green Jobs for Sustainable Planet’ conference is a very meaningful activity. The program helps young people better understand the concept of green jobs, career trends, and essential green skills for the present and future. At the same time, it supports students in building career paths that align with sustainable development trends and setting clear future goals.” He also thanks the sponsors and partner organizations for their support in successfully organizing the conference.

The conference aims to raise awareness about green jobs and the essential role of youth in green transformation and sustainable development, equip knowledge and skills, connect young people with experts, businesses, and pioneering social organizations, and expand internship and career development opportunities. Through experiential activities and educational games, it helps young people better understand sustainable development practices and their role in the green transformation process.

According to reports from the World Economic Forum, the green transformation process can create about 30 million new jobs by 2030, while demand for workers with green skills on the LinkedIn platform has increased by more than 15% during 2022-2023. These numbers show that green career opportunities are increasingly expanding, requiring young people to actively prepare and adapt.

The conference features many meaningful and practical activities divided into 4 main parts. Part 1: Green Jobs Context – Provides an overview of career trends and necessary skills in the context of sustainable development. Part 2: Practical game “Cause – Effect – Career – Solution” – Helps young people understand the connection between environmental issues and the role of green industries. Part 3: Building Green Career Trees – Young people explore and map career paths that match their passions and strengths. Part 4: Green Career Guidance Counseling – Direct interaction with speakers and experts to answer questions and provide specific guidance.

Ms. Ngoc Mai – Founder and Project Manager of SDY, shares: “Green jobs are not necessarily limited to renewable energy or plastic recycling fields, but are present in all sectors. The green message does not stop at providing information, but also hopes to transmit strong motivation for everyone to better understand their role in the sustainable development process, as well as equip thinking and green transformation skills for their career journey ahead.”

The conference concludes with many positive action commitments from young people, contributing to spreading the green message and developing careers linked to social responsibility for a more sustainable planet.
