(TVU) – On September 18, the monitoring delegation from Tra Vinh Provincial People’s Council visits Tra Vinh University to supervise the management and use of funds in scientific research and technology application projects at the University.
The monitoring delegation is led by Ms. Duong Thi Ngoc Tho, Member of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee and Vice Chairwoman of the Provincial People’s Council, with Mr. Kien Quan, Member of the Provincial Party Committee and Vice Chairman of the Provincial People’s Council, serving as Deputy Head of the delegation, accompanied by other members.
Welcoming the delegation is Associate Professor Dr. Diep Thanh Tung, Vice Rector of Tra Vinh University, along with representatives from various Schools, Faculties, Centers, and Institutes within the University.
During the meeting, Associate Professor Dr. Diep Thanh Tung, Vice Rector, reviews some information from 2021-2023. Tra Vinh University is assigned to lead the implementation of 06 projects using science and technology funds, with a total approved budget of over 2.65 billion VND. Of these, 02 projects are accepted at the ministerial level, and 04 projects are accepted at the provincial level. Simultaneously, Tra Vinh University leads the implementation of 07 ongoing projects from previous years, including 05 provincial-level projects and 02 ministerial-level projects, all of which have been accepted and are being applied. Additionally, the Vice-Rector highlights some difficulties in project implementation, such as delays in some projects and the need for funding to maintain research activities in subsequent phases.
On this occasion, Mr. Kien Quan, Vice Chairman of Tra Vinh Provincial People’s Council, requests Tra Vinh University to continue implementing science and technology tasks effectively. He also urges the university to promote application-oriented scientific research and enhance technology transfer synchronously and efficiently, contributing to the economic and social development of the province.
During the meeting, the delegation highly appreciates many application-oriented research projects, especially in production, aquaculture, and community healthcare. Some notable projects mentioned include “Research on creating disease-free black tiger shrimp broodstock for hatcheries in Tra Vinh province,”; “Manufacturing coconut dehusking machines in Tra Vinh province for coconut fiber production,” and “Research on hepatitis B and C virus infection in people aged 15-65 in Tra Vinh province”.
