Tra Vinh University offers a 10% tuition fee reduction for TVU students

(TVU) – On October 11th, 2021, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Pham Tiet Khanh, Rector of Tra Vinh University, decided to reduce 10% of tuition fees for students studying at the university.

Dr. Nguyen Minh Hoa, Vice-Rector of Tra Vinh University, said: “To express his sympathy with people who are affected by the Covid-19 pandemic in many southern localities, Dr. Pham Tiet Khanh, the Rector of Tra Vinh University, decided to reduce 10% tuition fee of the first semester in the academic year 2021- 2022 for all students, including international students, who study in CA and DA class codes. The total amount of the reduction is worth more than 10 billion. It is a part of sharing difficulties and burdens with parents, helping the university’s students have more motivation to study.

In addition, the university spends about 21.5 billion VND every year on the policy of tuition exemption and reduction, supporting learning expenses for those who belong to the groups regulated in the Decree No. 86/2015/ND-CP dated October 2nd, 2015 of the Government on educational institutions under the national education system.”

“During the past time, Tra Vinh University’s lecturers and staff contributed more than VND 200 million to the fund of the Covid-19 pandemic prevention and control, and more than VND 100 million to the program “Computers for children” to buy computers for needy students, giving them a chance to study online.

TVU has joined with benefactors to organize many activities, helping the community, including sending gifts and giving free meals to those in difficult circumstances during the epidemic period. More than 150 volunteer students and the university’s officials and lecturers have participated in the frontline of the fight against the Covid-19 pandemic at the field hospitals, as well as coordinated in organizing Covid-19 vaccination for the workers in Tra Vinh province.” Mr. Nguyen Nhat Thanh, Secretary of  Tra Vinh University Communist Youth Union, added.
