Tra Vinh University opens doors: Inspiring high school students’ academic journey

TVU – On December 1st, over 900 high school students from Nhuan Phu Tan High School (Ben Tre); Hermann Gmeiner High School (Ben Tre); Diep Minh Chau High School (Ben Tre); Nguyen Van Con School (Tien Giang); Tam Binh High School (Vinh Long); and Phung Hiep Continuing Education Center (Hau Giang) come to visit and experience the “A day of a student” activity series at Tra Vinh University.

This is one of the annual activities of Tra Vinh University. It helps high school students orient themselves toward their future study and career paths. Tra Vinh University always hopes to welcome many more student delegations to visit and explore its dynamic learning environment.

The visit provides students with a comprehensive overview of potential future careers, offering them insights into various professions and the learning environment at Tra Vinh University. Also, it gives students complete information about the university, its training programs, scholarships, and the conducive learning environment.

The first thing students feel when coming to Tra Vinh University is a fresh atmosphere and a campus covered in greenery. Besides, many practical activities to protect and develop a sustainable environment are implemented with the effort to build a green and friendly environment.

Students experience and explore various training programs and a vibrant learning atmosphere here. They also visit modern and well-equipped facilities, including classrooms, laboratories, lecture halls, libraries, dormitories, etc.

With a variety of traditional musical instruments of the Kinh and Khmer, along with cultural artifacts of various ethnic groups, the display and practice area for conventional musical instruments at the College of Southern Khmer Language – Culture – Arts and Humanity is not only a place to enjoy traditional music but also an open space for students to explore and discover traditional musical values.

  

Students delve into agriculture and biotechnology through large-scale practice and experiment laboratories. The modern dental clinic provides a glimpse into the latest advancements in dental care. The School of Engineering and Technology offers cutting-edge workshops for automation, mechanics, automobiles, electricity, electronics, and construction. Beyond the classrooms, students can immerse themselves in the vibrant campus life at the College of Economics and Law, the College of Southern Khmer Language – Culture – Arts and Humanity, the College of Medicine and Pharmacy, the School of Agriculture and Aquaculture, and the Institute of Korean Culture and Language.

In recent times, Tra Vinh University has focused on investing in many specialized fields and expanding new programs towards diversification, closely linking with the business community and the market demand for quality human resources to serve the development of the local economy and society in engineering and technology, sustainable agriculture and aquaculture, health sciences, economics, culture, tourism and hospitality, biotechnology and environment, applied chemistry, logistics, artificial intelligence, etc.

In 2024, Tra Vinh University opens admission for the following programs: Agriculture and Aquaculture; Engineering and Technology; Health Sciences; Economics, Law, Logistics, and Administration; Education; Applied Chemistry; Tourism and Hospitality; Biotechnology and Environment; Khmer Southern Language, Culture, and Arts; Physical Education Management and Political Theory, etc. Notably, there is one new program, Plant Protection, and four new majors: Social Work—which specializes in the Health section; Automation and Control Engineering Technology—which specializes in Semiconductor Chip Design; and full English programs in Information Technology and General Business Administration.

Tra Vinh University offers various incentives for students, including full tuition waivers for education programs (as per Government Decree 116) and traditional instrument performance, as well as 30% tuition reductions for cultural studies and music studies programs. Additionally, Traditional Instrument Performance program students receive a 450,000 VND monthly living allowance. The university also provides scholarships to encourage learning, support disadvantaged students, and foster scientific research and start-up initiatives.

Female students in the following Engineering and Technology majors: Civil Engineering Technology, Transportation, Mechanical Engineering Technology, Electrical-Electronics Engineering Technology, Control and Automation Engineering Technology, Power Mechanics, and Automotive Engineering Technology, are eligible for SCHOLARSHIPS COVERING UP TO 50% OF TUITION FEES. Female students in Applied Chemistry programs can also receive SCHOLARSHIPS OF UP TO 30% OF TUITION FEES.
