Tra Vinh University organizes second voluntary blood donation drive of 2024-2025 academic year

TVU – On August 24, 2025, the Youth Union and Student Association of Tra Vinh University collaborated with Can Tho Hematology Hospital to organize the second voluntary blood donation drive of the 2024-2025 academic year. This activity promotes the spirit of mutual love and support, contributing to spreading the deep humanitarian meaning of the voluntary blood donation movement in the community.

From early morning, over 350 union members, association members, and students gathered at the organizing area to register for participation. The atmosphere was lively and enthusiastic.

The program was organized with the spirit of voluntariness, safety, effectiveness, and practicality. Preparation work was thoroughly implemented from propaganda and mobilization to health checks and participant screening, ensuring proper health and weight requirements (males from 50kg, females from 48kg), and no use of stimulants before blood donation.

After one morning, the organizing committee collected 266 precious blood units, contributing to supplement the blood bank that is currently scarce at medical facilities in the region.

Many students shared that participating in blood donation is not only a humanitarian act but also a way to express compassion and sharing with the community. Some students have participated in blood donation multiple times, and each time is a memorable and proud experience. This is also an opportunity to demonstrate noble gestures and make practical contributions to overcoming blood shortages at medical facilities in the province and neighboring areas.

Voluntary blood donation has become an annual activity of the university, contributing to awakening the spirit of “living beautifully, living usefully” in students. With the message “One drop of blood given – One life saved,” the program not only helps patients but also continues to spread deep humanitarian messages, further beautifying the image of Tra Vinh students in volunteer movements for the community.
