(TVU) – On October 15th, 2023, Tra Vinh University organizes the competition “Ideas for Scientific and Technological Research” which is the first edition in 2023, for high school students currently studying at high schools within and outside the province of Tra Vinh.
Tra Vinh University organizes the competition with the motto of “Bringing quality learning opportunities to the community” to encourage high school students to engage in research, innovation, and the practical application of science in daily life. The competition aims to provide resources and support for students to develop their research ideas in the fields of Chemistry, Materials Science and Environment. Additionally, it assists students in refining their scientific research concepts and facilitates their participation in the National Science Competition.
There have been 12 high schools from four provinces in the Mekong Delta region (Ben Tre, Dong Thap, Soc Trang, Vinh Long) registered to participate in the competition. The participating schools include Nguyen Quang Dieu High School for the Gifted, Tam Nong High School, Tram Chim High School, Mai Thanh The High School, Nguyen Khuyen High School, Hung Loi Secondary School and High School, Tran Van Bay High School, Tan Thanh Secondary School and High School, Huynh Tan Phat High School, Doan Thi Diem High School, Nguyen Dinh Chieu High School, and Thanh Binh Secondary School and High School. There is a total of 19 research projects submitted, with a total of 31 students taking part in the competition.
The preliminary round of the competition took place from August 18th to August 31st. The organizing committee selected 15 out of the 19 registered research projects to proceed to the final round. The prize structure includes a first prize, a second prize, a third prize, and 12 consolation prizes. The first-prize project, the second- prize project, the third-prize project prizes receive support from Tra Vinh University to conduct experiments and participate in the Science and Technology competition for the academic year 2023-2024.
In the final round, the organizing committee has an evaluation council directly at Tra Vinh University or online (via Google Meet) for candidates who are unable to attend in person at the university. The council will select the winning projects.
