(TVU) – From August 8-9, 2024, Tra Vinh University sends school members to attend the 17th National Conference on Fundamental and Applied Information Technology Research (FAIR-2024) in Hanoi. The conference, themed “Artificial Intelligence in Digital Transformation,” is jointly organized by the Vietnam Union of Science and Technology Associations, the Vietnam Academy of Science and Technology, and the Posts and Telecommunications Institute of Technology.
The event attracts over 400 delegates, scientists, and students nationwide from IT research institutions and universities.
The conference comprises seven specialized sub-committees: Artificial Intelligence and Applications, AI Applications in Healthcare, Data Science, Information Systems, Image Processing and Computer Vision, Natural Language Processing, and Network Information Security.
FAIR-2024 receives 185 scientific papers from authors representing more than 100 universities and research institutes. Each paper undergoes rigorous peer review, with some evaluated by up to six independent reviewers. As a result, 112 outstanding papers are selected for presentation and discussion at the conference. Tra Vinh University contributes one paper to the Network Information Security sub-committee.

Associate Professor Dr. Nguyen Thai Son, Director of the Institute for Human Resource Development at Tra Vinh University and a member of the Conference Program Committee states: “FAIR Conference is a prestigious forum for researchers and lecturers to publish, exchange, discuss, and evaluate the status of basic research, development, and practical applications of information technology.”
The plenary session features two keynote presentations:
(1) “Automated Han-Nom Text Processing” by Associate Professor Dr. Dinh Dien from the University of Science, Vietnam National University Ho Chi Minh City
(2) “Human Activity Recognition and Applications” by Associate Professor Dr. Pham Van Cuong from the Posts and Telecommunications Institute of Technology
After the event, the Organizing Committee awards the hosting rights for FAIR XVIII in 2025 to Hanoi University of Industry.
