Tra Vinh University ranks 1st in the Taekwondo Championship of Tra Vinh province in 2023

TVU – On the afternoon of July 4th, the Taekwondo Championship of Tra Vinh province in 2023 takes place, with two final matches in the categories of female team sparring and male team sparring. The closing ceremony marks the end of the championship at the Chau Thanh district sports arena. The Taekwondo team from Tra Vinh University ranks first in the overall standings.

The tournament is organized by the Department of Culture, Sports, and Tourism of Tra Vinh province in collaboration with the Chau Thanh district People’s Committee, attracting over 200 athletes from 9 local units within the province. It runs from July 1st to July 4th, 2023.

The athletes compete in 20 weight divisions, including 2 team sparring categories and 4 poomsae events (individual female standard, individual male standard, male team standard, and female team standard).

   

The Taekwondo team from Tra Vinh University participates with 22 athletes competing in 19 events, including male individual sparring in weight divisions under 47kg, 50kg, 54kg, 58kg, 63kg, 68kg, and over 68kg; female individual sparring in weight divisions under 42kg, 45kg, 48kg, 51kg, 55kg, 59kg, and over 59kg; male individual poomsae; female individual poomsae; female team poomsae; male team poomsae (230kg) and female team poomsae (200kg). The coach is Mr. Nguyen Ngoc Tuan, the Head of the Taekwondo Martial Arts Club.

Mr. Nguyen Ngoc Tuan, the Head of the Taekwondo Martial Arts Club, said that the athletes competed with the spirit of sportsmanship, unity, honesty, and nobility, applying appropriate techniques and tactics, and providing the audience with exciting and captivating matches. This contributes to improving the level and maximizing the movement of “Whole people exercise their bodies following the example of President Ho Chi Minh.”

In the final results, the Taekwondo team from Tra Vinh University ranks first in the overall standings with 5 Gold medals, 2 Silver medals, and 5 Bronze medals.
