(TVU) – On July 22, 2023, Dr. Nguyen Thanh Tuu, Deputy Director of the Institute of Environmental Science and Technology – Tra Vinh University, arrived in the Lao People’s Democratic Republic, starting a long-term business trip as an expert to support the Consul General in survey, research, and development in the Central Lao provinces.
The working trip of the expert from Tra Vinh University is in the content of the commitment between Dr. Phan Quoc Nghia, Vice-Rector of the University, and Ms. Dang Thi Hai Tam, Consul General (Savannakhet province), took place in June 2023.
Accordingly, Ms. Dang Thi Hai Tam suggested Tra Vinh University send experts to support the Consul General in conducting surveys on climate change, environmental protection associated with poverty reduction, and the need for human resource training in some provinces in Central Laos.
Dr. Nguyen Thanh Tuu, Ms. Dang Thi Hai Tam, and the team of experts from the Consulate came to work in 3 provinces of Central Laos, including Bolikhamxay, Kham Muon, and Savannakhet from July 23, 2023, to July 31, 2023.
There, leaders of Central Laos provinces directed departments such as the Department of Foreign Affairs, Department of Industry and Trade, and Department of Agriculture and Forestry to coordinate and support the delegation, and at the same time, directly went to localities to survey the needs of professional human resources, training cooperation opportunities with Tra Vinh University, the need for economic development, poverty alleviation, etc.
Implementing the policy of promoting international cooperation in the field of education, in recent years, Tra Vinh University has paid attention to building and developing relationships with many domestic and foreign educational institutions and organizations.
By cooperating and sending experts to support Laos, Tra Vinh University hoped to find opportunities for cooperation in career counseling, human resource training, research into plant seed production, climate change adaptation, and environmental protection.
