Tra Vinh University signs cooperation with departments and agencies of Svay Rieng province, Cambodia

(TVU) – On October 19, Tra Vinh University, together with the provincial Department of Education, Youth and Sports and Department of Health of Svay Rieng province, Kingdom of Cambodia, signed a cooperation agreement on human resource training, scientific research and cultural exchange.

Attending the signing ceremony are He. Toch Polyva, Deputy Governor of Svay Rieng province, and Mr. Le Thanh Binh, Vice Chairman of Tra Vinh Provincial People’s Committee, together with leaders of provincial departments of Svay Rieng. Representing Tra Vinh University are Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Minh Hoa, Rector of Tra Vinh University, Dr. Thach Thi Dan, Vice Rector, and leaders of university units.

Accordingly, the three parties will coordinate exchange programs between staff, provide career guidance, organize conferences, workshops, cooperate in scientific research and technology transfer, human resource training, technological, economic and cultural development.

Tra Vinh University will provide Vietnamese language training for students. The provincial departments will support the university in career orientation and enrollment in Svay Rieng, while serving as a bridge for the university to connect with other provincial agencies.

At the signing ceremony, leaders of the two provinces emphasized the importance of human resource development through education and healthcare training, recognized Tra Vinh University’s quality programs and achievements, and hoped the cooperation on personnel training will benefit the needs of both sides.

Toch Polyva, Deputy Governor of Svay Rieng, thanked Tra Vinh leaders for their warm reception, hoping the cooperation will open more opportunities for Cambodian students, especially those from Svay Rieng, to study at the university and further strengthen the neighborly relations between the two countries.

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Minh Hoa, Rector of Tra Vinh University, said that the university provides multi-disciplinary, multi-level training programs, especially foreign student training programs. Currently, there are Cambodian students from 15 cities and provinces of Cambodia enrolled in majors such as Medicine, Dentistry, Banking and Finance, Medical Laboratory Technology and Electrical Engineering. The Rector hoped that this signing ceremony will open up more opportunities for students from Svay Rieng province to study at the university and further strengthen cooperation and friendly relations between the parties.

On this occasion, the delegation from Svay Rieng province toured Tra Vinh University, Duyen Hai Thermal Power Plant, and some landmarks in Tra Vinh city.
