Tra Vinh University team clinches the 1st place in Provincial Taekwondo Championship

The 2024 Tra Vinh Provincial Taekwondo Championship, organized by the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, concludes successfully this morning (July 5). The organizing committee awards 26 sets of first, second, and third prizes to outstanding individuals and teams.

Mr. Cao Quoc Dung, Deputy Director of the Tra Vinh Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, attends the closing ceremony and award presentation at the province’s multi-purpose sports arena. He is joined by Phan Truong Vu, Deputy Head of the Sports Division, and Thai Anh Tuan, Deputy Director of the Tra Vinh Sports Training and Competition Center.

Over four days of competition (July 2-5), 195 male and female athletes from 12 units across the province compete for 26 medal sets. These include 22 individual and 4 team medal sets in Poomsae (forms) and sparring events.

In the team events, gold medals are awarded to Cang Long (women’s standard poomsae team), Cang Long (men’s standard poomsae team), Tra Vinh University (women’s sparring team), and Cau Ngang (men’s sparring squad).

In the overall team rankings, Tra Vinh University secures first place with 7 gold, 6 silver, and 2 bronze medals. Chau Thanh district takes second place with 6 gold, 4 silver, and 2 bronze medals. Cau Ngang district finishes third with 4 gold and 1 silver medal.
