Tra Vinh University trains medical specialists in Internal medicine, Surgery, Obstetrics and gynecology, Pediatrics, and Oral maxillofacial

(TVU) – On January 7, 2022, the Ministry of Health officially signed the decision to assign training five specialized programs including Internal medicine, Surgery, Obstetrics and gynecology, Pediatrics, and Oral maxillofacial to Tra Vinh University.

On December 14, 2021, the appraisal team of the Health Ministry led by Dr. Pham Van Tac, Vice Chairman of the National Medical Council, Director of the Department of Technology Science and Training visited Tra Vinh University to assess the training capacity of the university and approve this academic institution to offer the five specialized courses. 

The enrollment is expected in the first quarter of 2022 with the two-year intensive training. Potential learners who register for the exam had to obtain the bachelor degree of the corresponding major and achieved a practicing certificate in accordance with the provisions of the Law on Medical Examination and Treatment.

Over the years, Tra Vinh University has continuously made efforts in developing its quality. Therefore, the university is one of the top universities achieving 13 training programs that have been accredited for education quality according to international standards of AUN-QA, FIBAA, and ABET. Among them, five undergraduate programs meeting the standards of AUN-QA include agriculture, fisheries, veterinary medicine, nursing, and Khmer language; seven undergraduate and graduate programs under FIBAA standards consist of business administration, economics, accounting, banking and finance, laws, business administration (master’s program) and economic management (master’s program); and engineering and technology is the rest undergraduate program meeting the ABET requirements.
