TVU – In a lively display of sportsmanship and camaraderie, Tra Vinh University (TVU) students engage in an exciting sports exchange with their Ho Chi Minh University of Economics (UEH) – Vinh Long Branch counterparts.
On the afternoon of June 9th, at Zone 1, a highly anticipated football match occurs, with students from the two universities competing against each other. The event is attended by esteemed guests, including Mr. Ho Thien Quyen, Deputy Director of the UEH Vinh Long Branch, and representatives of the leadership from various departments and boards of the branch.
Representing Tra Vinh University are Dr. Thach Thi Dan, Vice Rector; Dr. Lieu Thanh Tam, Head of the Department of Physical Education; representatives of the leadership from various units; faculty members of the Department of Physical Education; and a large contingent of enthusiastic supporters from both universities, cheering on their respective teams.
In her opening speech, Dr. Thach Thi Dan, Vice Rector of Tra Vinh University, emphasizes, “Organizing and maintaining sports activities not only enhances physical health but also strengthens the solidarity spirit among students of both universities.” She sends words of encouragement and a morale boost to all the players participating in the competition, urging them to embrace the spirit of ‘Unity – Integrity – Nobility.’
The exchange activities aim to commemorate the 18th anniversary of the establishment of Tra Vinh University (June 19, 2006 – June 19, 2024) and the 23rd anniversary of the community college model. They promote the sports movement, create a beneficial playground for spiritual and physical development, encourage youth learning solidarity, foster a non-competitive atmosphere, and demonstrate the unity between the two institutions.
At the exchange event, with enthusiastic support from the audience from both universities in a lively atmosphere, the two football teams deliver many excellent and dramatic plays, showcasing beautiful and enticing goals. The match concludes with a draw, with both teams scoring 2-2. In the tug-of-war event, the UEH team excellently achieves the first prize, while the TVU team secures the second prize.
Student Nguyen Thai An, from the Office Management University class of 2022, shares, “The football and tug-of-war exchange event takes place in a lively and enthusiastic atmosphere, leaving many beautiful impressions in the hearts of each participant. This is truly a beneficial entertainment activity, fostering a healthy cultural environment and providing an opportunity for the two units to exchange, learn, and promote the spirit of sports and physical training.”
