On October 12th, 2012, the Opening Ceremony 2012-2013 was taken place at the yard of Faculty of Agriculture and Aquaculture, Campus 1, TVU. Participating the ceremony, there were Mr. Duong Hoang Nghia, Deputy Secretary of Tra Vinh Provincial Communist Party Committee and Chairman of Tra Vinh Provincial People’s Council; Ms. Son Thi Anh Hong, Standing Commissioner of Tra Vinh Provincial Communist Party Committee and Vice- Chairwoman of Tra Vinh Provincial People’s Committee; representatives of provincial departments, enterprises, veteran revolutionaries, and foreign professors, instructors and volunteers who are co-operating and working at TVU. On the side of TVU, there were Mr. Tran Hoan Kim, Former Deputy Secretary of Tra Vinh Provincial Communist Party Committee and Former Chairman of Tra Vinh Provincial People’s Committee, Chairman of TVU Advisory Council; Dr. Pham Tiet Khanh, a commissioner of Tra Vinh Provincial Communist Party Committee, Secretary of TVU Communist Party Committee, Rector of TVU and TVU instructors, staff and students.

With the exciting atmosphere to welcome a new school year, Mr. Le Van Don, Vice Rector of TVU read the Congratulation Letter of Tra Vinh Provincial People’s Committee. Dr. Pham Tiet Khanh delivered his opening speech and the report for 2011-2012 and orientation for 2012- 2013. Closing the year, TVU has made efforts to overcome difficulties and challenges. After 3 years for applying credit based system, training quality is improved. At the present, TVU offers 24 areas of study in college level, 23 areas of study in university level and 01 area of study for master level. In the year 2011-2012, there were 3,619 graduates, reached over 80%. This year, there are 24,000 TVU students including full time, part- time, articulation and distance learning forms. TVU continues to implement quality management ISO: 9001- 2008 and strengthen relations with enterprises in Co-op model, expand international collaboration, develop staff’s capacity, attract intellectuals, promote scientific research, production and services. TVU’s main mission is to bring learning opportunities and ensure training quality to community.
At the ceremony, the best new student was awarded. Sponsors offered scholarships to poor and studious students. The representatives of TVU instructors and students delivered their emotional speech with their maturation in learning and working process at TVU.
Ms. Son Thi Anh Hong, the representative of Tra Vinh Provincial leaders, acknowledged and praised for TVU achievements and she mentioned that TVU should promote to offer political and ideological education to TVU instructors, staff and students, enhance training quality and competitiveness and make good images for TVU.
