Tra Vinh University welcomes 800 high school students for “One day as a university student” experience

TVU – On December 29, approximately 800 high school students from seven schools across Tra Vinh, Dong Thap, Vinh Long, and Tay Ninh provinces participate in the “One day as a university student” experience at Tra Vinh University.

The event welcomes students from seven high schools, including Tran Quoc Toan, Chu Van An, Lap Vo 3 (Dong Thap), Nguyen Hieu Tu (Vinh Long), Hoa Minh (Tra Vinh), Vung Liem Continuing Education Center (Vinh Long), and Tay Ninh Ethnic Boarding School.

                      

Students explore various facilities, including a mock courtroom at the College of Economics and Law, import-export simulation rooms, and accounting laboratories. The agricultural practice area, dental clinic, and technical workshops for automation, mechanics, automotive, electrical, and electronic engineering draw particular interest.

At the College of Southern Khmer Language-Culture-Arts and Humanities (CLASKA), students experience traditional musical instruments of Kinh and Khmer ethnic groups alongside cultural exhibits. The university also hosts a blood donation drive, showcasing its commitment to community service.

“We were excited to visit the university early this morning,” shares Vo Le Anh Huy from Hoa Minh High School. “I plan to apply for the Aquaculture program at TVU.”

For 2025, TVU has expanded academic offerings with new programs, including Plant Protection and specialized majors in Healthcare Social Work, Semiconductor Circuit Design, English-taught Information Technology, and Business Administration. The university maintains 19 internationally accredited programs through FIBAA, AUN-QA, and ABET certifications.

Notable scholarship opportunities include:

  • Full tuition exemption for pedagogy and traditional instrument performance majors
  • 30% reduction for Cultural Studies and Music Studies
  • Monthly stipend of 450,000 VND for Traditional Instrument Performance students
  • 50% tuition scholarships for female students in engineering programs
  • 30% tuition reduction for female students in applied chemistry

TVU recently ranks 133rd among 1,477 institutions in the UI GreenMetric World University Rankings 2024, maintaining its position among the top 200 sustainable universities globally for the fifth consecutive year.
