Tra Vinh University wins 6 medals at the National Taekwondo Student Championship 2024

TVU – Tra Vinh University taekwondo team ranks 3rd overall with 2 golds, 1 silver, 3 bronzes at National Taekwondo Student Championship 2024 in Thai Nguyen.

The National Taekwondo Student Championship 2024 is organized by the Department of Physical Education – Ministry of Education and Training, Vietnam Professional Sport and University Association, Vietnam Taekwondo Federation and Thai Nguyen University of Education.

The tournament takes place from April 24 to 28, 2024 at Thai Nguyen University of Education Sports Hall. Nearly 300 athletes from universities, academies, and colleges across Vietnam compete.

Athletes compete in 23 sparring events, 9 Poomsae (pattern) events, and team demonstration events for students.

Trà Vinh University sends 7 athletes coached by Nguyen Ngoc Tuan, Head of Taekwondo Martial Arts Club. They compete in 9 events:
Men’s sparring: Under 54kg, 58kg, 68kg, Over 87kg
Women’s sparring: Under 43kg, 53kg, 57kg

Nguyen Ngoc Tuan says athletes compete with a “Unity, Integrity, Nobility” spirit, showing techniques and strategies for exciting matches. He states that the organization selects outstanding athletes for upcoming events, promotes taekwondo’s development toward physical fitness and comprehensive education, and fosters meetings and experience sharing nationwide.

Truong Thi Hong Thanh wins Gold in Women’s Under 43kg Sparring and Bronze in Women’s Poomsae. Huynh Trung Tinh wins Gold in Men’s Poomsae. Nguyen Chung Kiet wins Silver in Men’s Over 87kg Sparring. Huynh Quoc Huy wins Bronze in Men’s 68kg Sparring. Le Phuc Khang wins Bronze in Men’s 63kg Sparring.
