Tra Vinh University youth union pays tribute to President Ho Chi Minh

On May 18th, at the Historical Relic Site of the Memorial House of President Ho Chi Minh (Long Duc commune, Tra Vinh city), the Tra Vinh University delegation organized a ceremony to pay tribute to President Ho Chi Minh on the occasion of his 134th birthday anniversary (May 19, 1890 – May 19, 2024) and the 55th year of implementing the President’s Testament.

The delegates offered incense and flowers to commemorate President Ho Chi Minh. Attendees included Dr. Thach Thi Dan, Vice Rector of Tra Vinh University; Ms. Pham Le Phuong Thao, Secretary of the University Youth Union and President of the Student Association; leaders of university units; and over 80 staff members, youth union members, and students.

Following Uncle Ho’s teachings, youth affairs have received attention, guidance, and favourable conditions from the Provincial Youth Union, the Party Committee, the University’s Rector Board, and close coordination among university units. Upholding the glorious traditions, Tra Vinh University’s youth have been at the forefront, dynamic, creative, and active participants in revolutionary movements locally, positively contributing to the development of the university and Tra Vinh’s homeland.

The Youth Union has creatively implemented guidelines on studying and practising Ho Chi Minh’s thoughts, ethics, and lifestyle, tailored to the university’s conditions and target groups. The contents are integrated into youth union programs and movements through appropriate forms and methods. Efforts focus on innovating communication approaches and implementing Party and Youth Union resolutions through various channels.

Moral education and cultural living for union members emphasize identifying values, standards, and norms in behaviour and lifestyle. The “Building Exemplary Youth Values of Tra Vinh in the New Period” and “A Good News Every Day – A Good Story Every Week” campaigns have been effectively implemented.

Legal education activities are regularly conducted to promote a culture of constitutionalism and the rule of law among youth union members. Many exemplary union members have been commended at provincial and national levels for outstanding contributions in various fields. Many progressive role models continue making positive impacts through youth union activities.

Student Nguyen Thai An, President of the Good Student Club, represented Tra Vinh University’s youth in affirming their determination to uphold their political stance and firm ideological commitment to national independence and socialism as chosen by the Party, Uncle Ho, and the people. They vowed to cultivate ethics diligently following Uncle Ho’s example, nurture patriotism and willingness to contribute, and lead a healthy, simple lifestyle filled with love, sharing, eagerness to learn honesty, courage, responsibility, and action-matching words. They pledged active advocacy, study, and practice of Ho Chi Minh’s thoughts, ethics, and lifestyle; continuous self-improvement, resilience, creativity, daring to think and act; excellence in labour, production, and business; self-confidence, thirst for knowledge, community service, and active contributions to local economic, cultural, social development, and national defence.

On this occasion, the Tra Vinh University Youth Union commended 47 outstanding union members for exemplifying Uncle Ho’s teachings in 2024.
