The 11th National Patriotic Emulation Congress takes place with the theme “Emulation for innovation, creativity, and breakthrough acceleration to bring the country into an era of strong, civilized, and prosperous development.” The 11th National Patriotic Emulation Congress serves as a major political event of the country with the mission to review the emulation movement and commendation work for the 2021-2025 period, honor and commend outstanding individuals and collectives in patriotic emulation movements, and outline directions and tasks to continue innovating emulation and commendation work for the next five years. The congress creates momentum and motivation to contribute to the successful implementation of socio-economic development tasks while maintaining national defense and security for the 2026-2030 period, following the spirit of the 14th National Party Congress Resolution, leading our country into a new era – an era of national rise toward strength and prosperity.
At the congress, Professor Dr. People’s Doctor Ta Van Tram, Secretary of the Party Committee and Director of Tien Giang General Hospital – Dean of the College of Medicine and Pharmacy at Tra Vinh University, receives the decision from the President to confer the state honorary title “Labor Hero.” This represents special recognition from the Party and State for his exceptionally outstanding achievements in creative labor, making important contributions to the cause of building and defending the Fatherland, clearly demonstrated through his long, persistent, and effective working process.
Professor Dr. Ta Van Tram always strives to dedicate himself to people’s health and training, research, and medical knowledge transfer. He devotes his youth to diligently researching and testing effective treatment solutions, contributing to reducing the rate of severe complications and deaths in children with dengue fever. This dedication saves many pediatric patients’ lives and creates a solid scientific foundation for disease prevention and control locally and regionally.
He compiles and edits many monographs on dengue fever, early diagnosis of dengue infection, severe hand-foot-mouth disease in children, and directly guides successful generations of doctoral students, graduate students, and many resident doctors and specialist doctors, contributing to building a high-quality medical intellectual workforce for the country. Additionally, he completes many state-level, provincial-level, and grassroots-level science and technology projects and serves as author and co-author of over 298 scientific articles in domestic medical journals and scientific works published in prestigious international medical journals, including journals with high impact factors, thereby making important contributions to improving the quality of diagnosis, treatment, and health management.
In his position as Secretary of the Party Committee and Director of Tien Giang General Hospital, he leads the unit to excellently complete its tasks for many consecutive years, making the hospital a trusted medical examination and treatment destination for the people. Particularly, in his role as Dean of the College of Medicine and Pharmacy at Tra Vinh University, People’s Doctor Professor Dr. Ta Van Tram dedicates himself to leading and directing the construction of an advanced academic environment, training high-quality health human resources, closely linking theory and clinical practice, focusing on practical skill quality as the center. He innovates training and regularly organizes major scientific conferences to update training programs according to international competency standards, meeting social requirements well. Through this, many generations of graduates find good jobs and achieve high results in postgraduate exams at prestigious medical training institutions such as Ho Chi Minh City University of Medicine and Pharmacy, Pham Ngoc Thach University of Medicine, Can Tho University of Medicine and Pharmacy, demonstrating the effectiveness of practical training and the solid knowledge foundation for students at the College of Medicine and Pharmacy at Tra Vinh University.
People’s Doctor Professor Dr. Ta Van Tram serves as Dean of the College of Medicine and Pharmacy at Tra Vinh University and Head of the Organizing Committee for the scientific conference “Innovation, connection, and improvement of training quality in Health Sciences” held in October 2025.
