TVU – From June 6th to 7th, Tra Vinh University officials participated in a training course on applying artificial intelligence (AI) in teaching and research, organized by the SEAMEO Regional Training Center in Vietnam (SEAMEO RETRAC).
Dr. Nguyen Thi Thuy Trang, Deputy Head of the Foreign Language and Culture Department at SEAMEO RETRAC, presented the applications of AI in education and analyzed the benefits and challenges of implementing AI. Besides, she discussed the use of AI (ChatGPT and BingAI) in making and designing teaching outlines as well as lesson plans effectively and modernly. In addition, she emphasized how to design images, create audio files, produce video content, and make presentations using AI applications such as Bing Create, TTSmaker, and Lumen5.
During the program, participants had a chance to use several applications of AI like ChatGPT, Scholarcy, Quillbot, and Grammarly, which may offer various purposes, for example, looking up academic research documents, summarizing articles, supporting writing data analysis reports, composing, correcting articles, sentences paragraphs, and translating languages in the academic and research works. Remarkably, they recommended some applications of AI, which are applied for testing and evaluating the tests, such as creating student assessment activities through quizzes, exercises, and student’s essays.
The applications also assisted in making exams, criteria, and scales to assess the students at the end of the semester.
