More than 500 loaves of bread and mineral water, 5000 medical masks are distributed free of charge by volunteers of Tra Vinh University to the elderly and disadvantaged children in the inner of Tra Vinh city with a total cost of nearly 15 million.
May 16, the “Life Skills” Club of Tra Vinh University collaboration with Buddhist of Phat Quang Pagoda and Ngoc Quang English Club at Tra Vinh city, initiate a campaign to distribute free vegetarian bread, mineral water, and medical masks on Nguyen Dang, Nguyen Thi Minh Khai, Pham Ngu Lao, Tran Phu, Phan Dinh Phung, Tran Quoc Tuan, and Nguyen Thien Thanh streets.
In Campus 1 of Tra Vinh University, from 5:30 a.m., a group of volunteer students is very early to prepare vegetarian bread and water for overhand poor people.
Mr. Nguyen Hoang Son, an alumnus of Tra Vinh University, said: The preparing food and water has started soon. Each poor person and child passing here is received a loaf of bread, a bottle of mineral water, and a mask to ensure measures to prevent the Covid-19 epidemic.
Although these are only small gifts, these are the concern for the difficult circumstances, the poor. Mr. Son thinks that taking care of the poor is the joy of life. He hopes that this charity can replicate so that everyone can share fewer difficulties with the poor workers.
Visiting the hospital at Tra Vinh University, Mr. Pham Van Dung, at Cang Long district, said: “I go here every week on Sunday. Today I know that the students gave out bread, so I took advantage of received early to have breakfast, afraid of no more for lunch.”
Mr. Le Minh Tam (Ward 5, Tra Vinh City), living by selling lottery tickets, said that he sells lottery tickets every day and earns tens of thousands to buy food. Today, he comes here to receive a loaf of bread and mineral water as a partial saving.
He does not forget to send a thank you to people distributing the loaves of bread, the bottles of mineral water, the masks during the epidemic season.
The total cost of implementing this program is nearly 15 million VND, mobilized sponsors, Phat Quang Pagoda’s Buddhists, and Ngoc Quang English Club by the Life Skills Club.
