TVU students with “A day to build my health and happiness” contest

(TVU) – Tra Vinh University’s “A Day to Build My Health and Happiness” contest on September 9, 2022, attracted more than 200 students to participate in and support.

The contest offered students the chance to learn and interact with others in order to raise their awareness of taking care of themselves and the community through physical training methods, healthy diets, as well as practicing a positive lifestyle.

Mr. Pham Quoc Khanh, Vice-Head of the Student Affairs Department, served as the head of the jury. Second Degree Specialist Son Huyen Vu, Head of the Outpatient Department at Tra Vinh University Hospital, was the deputy head of the jury. Other jury members included Ms. Vo Thuy Hong, Deputy Head of the Early Childhood Education Department at the School of Education; and Ms. Tran Thi Thanh Huyen, Head of the Physical Education Department at the School of Foundation Science.

Twelve teams from the School of Foreign Languages, the School of Economics and Law, the School of Political Theory, the School of Agriculture and Aquaculture, the School of Medicine and Pharmacy, the School of Engineering and Technology, the School of Education, and the School of Southern Khmer Language, Culture, and Arts took part in the competition, etc. The contest’s main focus is on creating videos about health training and entertainment; eating healthy, and ways to exercise after illness; along with the movement activities “Tải nước cho đội” (Transporting water for the team) and “Mang đậu về làng” (Bring beans to the village).

Nguyen Thanh Thang, an Office Administration class of 2021 student, stated, “The contest is a chance for us to share and gain experience. It is also a really helpful learning environment to enhance our medical knowledge, learn how to take care of ourselves, build our bodies’ resistance, understand how to improve our health, and impart that knowledge to family and friends.”

The team from the School of Medicine and Pharmacy took home the first prize in the video-building round, followed by the School of Foreign Languages for second place, and the School of Economics-Law and the School of Engineering and Technology for third place. Additionally, the School of Public Management, Office Administration; School of Foundation Science; and School of Southern Khmer Language, Culture and Arts each received a consolation prize.

Moreover, the round of movement activities brought interesting results. In the game “Mang đậu về làng”, the School of Economics-Law took first place, and School of Southern Khmer Language, Culture and Arts took second place, and the School of Public Management, Office Administration and the School of Engineering and Technology took third place. In the game “Tải nước cho đội”, the School of Economics-Law once again took first place, the School of Foundation Science took second place, and two teams from the School of Agriculture and Aquaculture and the School of Southern Khmer Language, Culture and Arts took third place. Besides, there were consolation prizes for the other top-performing teams.
