TVU – On the morning of June 11th, the closing ceremony and awarding ceremony of the 33rd National Mechanics Olympiad 2023 – Southern Localities takes place at Vinh Long University of Technology Education in Vinh Long province. Le Quoc Chuan, a student in Automotive Engineering, course 2021 at Tra Vinh University wins the second prize in this year’s National Mechanics Olympiad.
The 33rd National Mechanics Olympiad had 495 contestants in the Southern Localities. The contest promotes students’ learning and research movement at universities and colleges, contributing to improving the quality of teaching and learning of Mechanics subjects and discovering and fostering young talents with a passion for Mechanics subjects.
In 2023, the contest will take place on May 7th at three locations: Military Technical Academy (Northern Localities), University of Science and Technology – The University of Danang (Central Localities), and Vinh Long University of Technology Education (Southern Localities). This year, the contest attracts nearly 1,200 students from 36 institutes, universities, and engineering and technology colleges across the country. The contest organizes into 12 subjects, 7 traditional essays: Engineering Mechanics, Strength of Materials, Structural Mechanics, Hydraulics, Soil Mechanics, Machine Principles, and Machine Detail and 5 subjects of Applied Informatics in Mechanics, including Applied Informatics in Mechanics Engineering, Applied Informatics in Machine Principles, Applied Informatics in Machine Parts, Applied Informatics in Strength of Materials, Applied Informatics in Structural Mechanics.
Participating in this year’s contest, Tra Vinh University has 11 students competing in subjects such as Strength of Materials, Structural Mechanics, and Applied Informatics in Structural Mechanics, guided by lecturers of the School of Engineering and Technology.
Mr. Dang Hoang Vu, a lecturer at Tra Vinh University, said: The National Mechanics Olympiad is a highly applicable specialized playground, attracting a large number of students from institutes, universities, and colleges to compete. It is an opportunity for students to exchange knowledge, help students show their talents, honor and confidently assert themselves in learning and creativity.
