The Viet-Khmer, Khmer-Viet bilingual dictionary is a significant and successful work, highly evaluated by the Vietnamese Ministry of Education and Training. Tra Vinh University (TVU) was assigned to undertake this dictionary compilation work.
Deputy Minister of the Ministry of Education and Training and Chairman of this Project Evaluation Committee, Mr. Bui Van Ga said: “This is an importantly valuable work that marks the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and Cambodia. I highly appreciate great efforts of Tra Vinh University in ensuring timely progress as required.”
The compilation work was well completed with the effective cooperation between TVU and the Cambodian expert team, especially the massive support of the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sport of Cambodia in consultancy as well as editing.
“The project is the intellectual product which has been conducted in systematically scientific method ensuring the quality and quantity, and meeting requirements of a modern dictionary,” said Assoc. Prof. Nguyen Sy Tuan, the Project Evaluation Committee member.
“This work contributes to the preservation and promotion of Viet and Khmer languages”, said TVU Vice Rector Thach Thi Dan.
Assoc. Prof. Dr. Pham Tiet Khanh, TVU Rector emphasized: “This Viet-Khmer, Khmer-Viet bilingual dictionary will meet the in-depth study demand of Cambodian and Vietnamese students. It is very convenient for users since they are able to look up the dictionary online.”
