Since 2007, Tra Vinh University (TVU) has received many volunteers from Volunteers in Asia (VIA) to support TVU in teaching English for the students, lecturers and staff.

In the school year 2012 – 2013, the university continues to receive two volunteers from VIA, Mr. Thanh Tu Vincent Ly Tran and Ms. Laura Cooper Hall. The two volunteers will work at Department of Foreign Languages of Faculty of Economics, Law and Foreign Languages, TVU
At the first meeting, Mr. Thanh Tu Vincent Ly Tran, Ms. Laura Cooper Hall, the representatives of Department of Foreign Languages and International Collaboration and Project Promotion Department have discussed and agreed on the volunteers’ teaching and working schedule at the university from September 4th, 2012 to June 30th, 2013. In agreement between TVU and VIA, the volunteers will instruct English listening and speaking skills and American culture to TVU students. Besides, the volunteers and students will participate in weekly English Speaking Club and these volunteers teach English to lecturers and staff from different departments and faculties.
On behalf of the university, Dr. Pham Tiet Khanh expressed his gratitude to VIA for their support, which helps TVU students to have great conditions in learning English and, for their enduring co-operation. Dr. Pham Tiet Khanh promised to give the best conditions to the volunteers so that they can accomplish their tasks at TVU.
