(TVU) – On January 6, 2025 afternoon, the College of Khmer Southern Language-Culture-Arts and Humanities (CLASKA) welcomed representatives from Saigon Children’s Charity CIO.
The Saigon Children’s Charity CIO delegation included Ms. Nguyen Thi Duy Huong – Program Manager, Mr. Nguyen Sinh Quang Anh – Program Coordinator, and Ms. Le Ngoc Phuong – Program Officer. Representatives from the Tra Vinh Union of Friendship Organizations were also present to welcome the delegation.
Representing Tra Vinh University were Dr. Thach Thi Dan, Vice President of Tra Vinh University; Dr. Ngo So Phe, Dean of the College of Khmer Southern Language-Culture-Arts and Humanities (CLASKA); representatives from the International Cooperation Office; Ms. Thach Thi Ut Linh, Deputy Director of the Community Service Center, along with staff from the International Cooperation Office.
During the meeting with CLASKA, representatives from Saigon Children’s Charity CIO expressed their desire to collaborate on meaningful humanitarian projects.
In the discussion, Dr. Thach Thi Dan shared the university’s commitment to social issues, mainly focusing on three groups: women, children, and people with disabilities. The university has been actively implementing various initiatives to improve the quality of life and protect the rights of these groups. Tra Vinh University’s Khmer Southern Culture and Arts Club also plays a vital role in preserving and promoting traditional Khmer cultural values. The club’s activities focus on teaching dance, musical instruments, and Khmer cultural knowledge. This allows students to develop their skills and helps promote Khmer culture to the community, especially tourists visiting Tra Vinh.
Through collaboration with Saigon Children’s Charity CIO, CLASKA will continue implementing activities to improve the quality of life and preserve and promote traditional cultural values of the Khmer ethnic community.
