TVU – On September 13, 2024, Women’s Empowerment and Voice (WEAV) awards 21 scholarships to female students at Tra Vinh University.
Dr. Dang Thi Ngoc Lan, Director of WEAV in Vietnam, and Ms. Le Thi Thanh My, a WEAV member, are present to award the scholarships.

Representing Tra Vinh University are Dr. Phan Quoc Nghia, Vice Rector; Ms. Tran Thi Cuc, Head of Student Affairs; and Ms. Nguyen Thi Mai Khanh, Head of International Cooperation, school representatives and the 21 scholarship recipients.

Since 2014, WEAV has sponsored over 206 female students at Tra Vinh University, with a total funding of more than 511.25 million VND. Despite fundraising challenges in the US this year, with donations only half of previous years, WEAV has decided to award 21 scholarships to disadvantaged female students at Tra Vinh University to promote lifelong learning and educational development.

Dr. Phan Quoc Nghia, Vice-Rector, thanked WEAV for supporting the university’s female students over the years. He hopes for WEAV’s continued partnership in providing scholarships to female students who overcome difficulties and achieve academic excellence.

Dr. Dang Thi Ngoc Lan, Director of WEAV in Vietnam, expressed hope that these scholarships will motivate the recipients to strive for greater academic achievements.

Ms. Le Cam Van, a 2020 General Medicine student and scholarship recipient, shares: “I would like to express my deepest gratitude to WEAV for their attention and meaningful scholarships awarded to female students at Tra Vinh University. This motivates me to continue my efforts and work harder on my educational journey at Tra Vinh University.”
