(TVU) – At the end of August, Tra Vinh University (TVU) held the scientific workshop on “Southern literature and culture in the integration period” attracting the participation of over 100 scientists, researchers, faculty members and students from institutions in the Southern region. TVU Vice Rector Thach Thi Dan attended this important event.

At the workshop, the speakers’ presentations have clearly reflected the current situation of southern culture and literature. The participants agreed that preservation and promotion to the southern cultural heritage are urgent tasks which require the good cooperation of the whole community.
“With the rapid development of society, more people are interested in literature and culture. Cultural and literature integration is a vital element to its development”, said Dr. Nguyen Thi Hue, Dean of TVU School of Southern Khmer Language, Culture and Arts.
Speaking at the workshop, the Vice Rector said: “Southern culture and literature is a broad scientific theme. Research on this field is really necessary and it plays an important role to its development in the integration period.”
The Vice Rector gave big thanks and highly appreciated the experts’ presentations and solutions on preserving and promoting cultural and literature values.
