Training objectives

The Mechanical Engineering Technology program prepares students to achieve several key career goals. Graduates apply their engineering knowledge to innovate and create feasible and sustainable mechanical products and technologies. They are equipped to work as team managers or leaders in multidisciplinary and multicultural environments, supporting their organization’s goals. The program also fosters adaptability to rapid technological changes through continuous professional development and instills a strong sense of professional, ethical, and social responsibility throughout their careers. ⚙️


 

Program duration

Students earn a Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering Technology in 4 years. The program consists of 8 semesters and requires 152 credits.


Applicants

We welcome applicants from within Vietnam and from other countries. The admission process follows the regulations of the Ministry of Education and Training and Tra Vinh University.

Learning outcomes

Graduates of the program can apply knowledge of social sciences, politics, law, environmental protection, and national security to contribute to the nation. They use modern knowledge, techniques, and tools from mathematics, science, and engineering to solve technical problems in the mechanical engineering field. Students learn to design and manufacture systems, components, or processes that meet specific needs. They can conduct standard tests and measurements, then analyze and interpret the results to improve processes.

The program develops strong skills in written, oral, and graphical communication for both technical and non-technical environments. Graduates can identify and use appropriate technical documentation and work effectively as both members and leaders of professional teams. They demonstrate a commitment to professional ethics, a professional attitude, respect for diversity, and a dedication to quality and continuous improvement in their work.


Scholarship opportunities

Students can receive scholarships according to the university’s general policies, including awards for the valedictorian and salutatorian. Annual scholarships are also available for students with good academic standing or those facing difficult circumstances. Notably, female students in this program receive a special scholarship equivalent to 50% of their tuition fees.


Career opportunities

Graduates have a wide range of career options. In teaching and research, they can work as lecturers, specialists, and researchers at universities, colleges, and research institutes, or as research officers in government agencies, especially in national security fields related to mechanics. In production management, they can become workshop supervisors, technical service managers, or team leaders in mechanical manufacturing companies.

For technical consulting and services, graduates can work as technical consultants, machine operators, or technical inspectors. In production and technical inspection, they can work as technical officers in factories that produce and assemble mechanical parts and components, in plastics manufacturing facilities, or at technical inspection and occupational safety centers.


Postgraduate opportunities

After graduating, students have the opportunity to pursue postgraduate studies at the university. They also have the chance to be recommended for scholarships at foreign educational institutions.
