“Today’s conference serves both as a scientific forum and as a direction that Tra Vinh University wants to affirm in its new development phase: to accompany health science with a spirit of deep integration,” Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Minh Hoa affirmed.

This year’s conference takes place against the backdrop of rapidly developing global medicine, with breakthroughs in artificial intelligence, personalized medicine, and advanced surgical techniques. However, the question remains: how can these advances truly reach the people, especially in rural and remote areas?

At the general surgery halls, delegates were updated on the latest advances in lung cancer treatment, thyroid endoscopy, and endovascular intervention. People’s Physician, Hero of Labor, Professor, Doctor Ta Van Tram, Rector of the School of Medicine and Pharmacy – Tra Vinh University, provided important information on the trend of minimally invasive surgery, helping people access safer surgical procedures.

In addition, topics related to nursing, medical testing, and public health also attracted significant attention, with reports on e-health and chronic disease management.

At the conference, Associate Professor Dr. Nguyen Minh Hoa emphasized three key directions for the future: promoting applied research linked to the specific health characteristics of the Southwestern region; expanding international cooperation in a substantive manner; and placing patients and the community at the center of all training and research activities.

According to the school’s leadership, the conference is not only an academic forum but also a bridge between research and practice, contributing to bringing scientific achievements into the healthcare of the people.
