
🚧 Training Objectives
The Transportation Engineering program provides students with deep and extensive practical and theoretical knowledge in the field of transportation construction engineering. The program develops students’ skills in critical thinking, analysis, synthesis, and the scientific evaluation of data and information. It prepares students to research, develop, innovate, and use appropriate technologies in the field. Graduates learn to cultivate and share knowledge, demonstrate high responsibility and professional ethics, and adapt to a changing professional environment. They are also equipped to guide others, manage and improve professional activities, and use foreign languages fluently.
Program Duration
Students earn a Bachelor of Transportation Engineering in 4.5 years. The program consists of 9 semesters and requires 161 credits.
Applicants
We welcome applicants from within Vietnam and from other countries. The admission process follows the regulations of the Ministry of Education and Training and Tra Vinh University.

Learning Outcomes
Knowledge
Graduates can apply foundational knowledge of political theory and law to act correctly in their lives and careers. They can integrate foreign languages, information technology, and specialized terminology into their professional activities. They combine knowledge from the natural sciences, social sciences, and engineering sciences as a foundation for their major. Graduates also use their understanding of geological engineering, soil mechanics, geodesy, and hydrology to find reasonable solutions for the design, construction, and management of transportation projects. They apply their knowledge of mechanics to calculate and design transportation structures.
Skills
Graduates can analyze construction techniques and inspect and renovate transportation projects. They can evaluate and establish investment projects for transportation construction. They also analyze the social impact of transportation engineering solutions in a global context. Graduates can design transportation system plans and urban infrastructure. They are able to manage and operate projects in the transportation engineering field. The program also develops their foreign language proficiency (Level 3/6 of the Vietnamese framework), communication, teamwork, leadership, IT, and scientific research skills.
Scholarship Opportunities
Students can receive scholarships according to the university’s general policies, including awards for the valedictorian and salutatorian. Annual scholarships are also available for students with good academic standing or those facing difficult circumstances. Notably, female students in this program receive a special scholarship equivalent to 50% of their tuition fees.
Career Opportunities
Graduates of the Transportation Engineering program can work in various roles. They can find positions in government agencies related to construction, such as Departments of Construction, Project Management Boards, and local economic-technical infrastructure offices. They can work for consulting firms that specialize in surveying, design, supervision, construction, and project management. Graduates can also take on construction management roles in various enterprises, work in specialized laboratories, or join research institutes, universities, colleges, and vocational schools. Many also become independent construction contractors or entrepreneurs.
Postgraduate Opportunities
Graduates are qualified to pursue higher education, including Master’s and PhD degrees, in transportation construction engineering or other related fields at universities in Vietnam and abroad. They can participate in national and international scientific conferences in the transportation and construction sectors. They can also enroll in short-term professional development courses to earn certificates as supervising engineers, site commanders, design engineers, cost estimators, project managers, or laboratory managers.
