Tra Vinh University hosts scientific conference on physical education and international integration

Tra Vinh University held a scientific conference on May 9 focusing on “Physical education and school sports activities in the trend of international integration.” The event drew nearly 40 participants, including scientists, lecturers, coaches, students, and education managers from various universities.

Management representatives included Dr. Nguyen Dai Duc, former Deputy Director of Tra Vinh’s Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism; Dr. Nguyen Dang Khoa from Ho Chi Minh City’s Department of Culture and Sports; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Quang Son from Ho Chi Minh City University of Economics, and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Dao Hoang Nam, Rector of Bac Lieu University. Physical education staff from schools across the Mekong Delta region also attended.

Tra Vinh University was represented by Dr. Phan Quoc Nghia, Vice Rector and Head of the Conference Organizing Committee; Dr. Lieu Thanh Tam, Head of the Faculty of Physical Education; and other university leaders. In his opening remarks, Dr. Nghia emphasized physical education’s role in developing students comprehensively in intelligence, spirit, and physical strength. He described the conference as an essential forum for knowledge exchange to improve physical education quality during international integration.

The Vietnam University Sports Association presented Certificates of Merit to Tra Vinh University and MSc. Nguyen Toan Nang for their outstanding contributions to sports activities in 2023.

Conference presentations addressed challenges and solutions in improving physical education. Dr. Nguyen Dai Duc highlighted the need for synchronous policies, facility investments, and teaching staff improvement. MSc. Nguyen Thanh Liem presented findings on student learning needs at Vietnam Aviation Academy, while MSc. Nguyen Toan Nang evaluated student perspectives on Tra Vinh University’s physical education programs, suggesting more flexible and personalized teaching content.

Dr. Nguyen Minh Khoa proposed solutions for developing soft skills among physical education students at Can Tho University, emphasizing communication skills and classroom management. MSc. Duong Thanh Nha recommended improving Tra Vinh University students’ physical fitness through subject diversification and enhanced coordination with local sports organizations.

The conference established new directions for interdisciplinary and inter-regional research cooperation, aiming to improve physical education quality throughout Vietnam’s education system and train a generation of healthy, dynamic students who integrate well globally.
