Hieu Nhan – Cong Ly
(TVU) – Tra Vinh University (TVU) holds the 4th Natural Science Olympic Contest 2025 on April 6. The competition attracts 688 students from 41 high schools across six Mekong Delta provinces: Tra Vinh, Vinh Long, Ben Tre, Dong Thap, Soc Trang, and Hau Giang.
Dr. Thach Thi Dan, Vice Rector and Head of the Organizing Committee, explains that this annual event creates an academic platform for students and teachers to exchange knowledge and experience in Natural Sciences. She highlights the competition’s growing popularity and role in helping students explore university life and future career paths.
The contest features 172 teams competing in three subjects: Mathematics (theoretical test), Chemistry, and Biology (both theoretical and practical tests). Students tackle challenging topics through computer-based multiple-choice questions and hands-on laboratory experiments.
Associate Professor Dr. Nguyen Tan Tai, Deputy Head of the Organizing Committee and Director of TVU’s Institute of Biotechnology, emphasizes that the competition encourages modern scientific thinking and active exploration of the natural world.
TVU Laboratory School (Tra Vinh) wins the overall team First Prize. Che Guevara High School (Ben Tre) and Vo Van Kiet High School (Vinh Long) secure Second and Third Places respectively. The competition awards individual prizes, including five First Prizes, five Second Prizes, five Third Prizes, and 136 Consolation Prizes across different subjects.
TVU organizes career guidance activities and campus tours for over 1,000 high school students during the event. Participants visit learning facilities, laboratories, and recreational areas to experience the university environment. The university welcomes students from various high schools across Tra Vinh, Ben Tre, Vinh Long, Kien Giang, and Tay Ninh provinces.
