TVU – On July 26 and 27, 2025, Saigonchildren coordinates with universities to organize a summer camp for more than 210 disadvantaged students at the Giang Dien Waterfall Ecotourism Area in Dong Nai Province. Tra Vinh University sends 40 students, led by Mr. Pham Quoc Khanh, Deputy Head of the Student Affairs Department.

This event is part of the project “Improving the Capacity of Female Students in Difficult Circumstances Studying at Tra Vinh University, Phase 2024–2028.”

With the theme “Dare to Shine – Power On,” campers engage in a variety of activities that develop essential skills, including teamwork, communication, time management, problem-solving, logical thinking, and self-reflection. The program features a range of exciting and interactive games such as light source decoding, chain games, big games, underwater challenges, ringing the golden bell, and campfire sessions. Additional activities include a tent decoration contest, eco-friendly product-making, an environmental protection workshop, tree planting, and educational painting using bio-fabric bags. Campers also participate in discussions on community development projects and in piggy bank fundraising activities to support underprivileged children.

According to Truong Thi Ngoc Mai, an English Language major (Class of 2022) at Tra Vinh University, she shares in her summer camp diary:

“This is my first time attending the Summer Camp. I feel happy and excited. The camp gives us opportunities to make new friends, enjoy ourselves, and take part in various activities that enhance our life skills. It helps us strengthen our resilience, overcome difficulties, connect with the community, and collaborate with fellow students who benefit from the project. This experience is meaningful and memorable, bringing many emotions and the joy of youth. Thank you to our teachers and friends for giving us this valuable opportunity and leaving us with beautiful memories.”

As part of the broader initiative, during the 2024–2025 academic year, Saigonchildren provides scholarships for 83 female students at Tra Vinh University, with a total budget of VND 1,160,589,000. They also collaborate with the university to organize six life skills training courses, covering topics such as mental wellness, communication, emotional regulation, personal development, time management, and financial literacy. In addition, Saigonchildren partially supports tuition fees to ensure students can continue their education.

By being equipped with essential life skills, students gain confidence on their journey of learning and self-development.
