Tra Vinh University dormitory organizes spring activities for resident students

On January 30, the Dormitory Management Board of Tra Vinh University holds a series of activities to mark the 96th anniversary of the Communist Party of Vietnam and welcome Lunar New Year 2026. The program attracts a large number of resident students and creates a lively atmosphere in the early days of the new year.

The activities provide a healthy and meaningful recreational space, enhance students’ spiritual life, strengthen solidarity, and bring a warm Tet spirit to those staying on campus. According to the organizers, the program includes the “Clean and Beautiful Dormitory Room” contest, athletics competitions with a 1,000-meter race for male students and a 500-meter race for female students, Spring-themed decoration areas, souvenir photo spaces, and traditional folk games such as clay pig breaking, prize quizzes, early-year fortune picking, and a lucky wheel with attractive prizes.

The folk games, rich in Spring traditions, create joyful moments and highlight cultural values associated with Tet. The athletics competition draws more than 50 students and promotes physical fitness and healthy living. The Organizing Committee awards two First Prizes, four Second Prizes, and six Third Prizes across the race categories.

The “Clean and Beautiful Dormitory Room” contest runs from January 5 to January 30. Evaluation criteria focus on cleanliness, aesthetics, safety, order, hygiene, participation in dormitory activities, and compliance with regulations. The Dormitory Management Board presents one First Prize, one Second Prize, one Third Prize, and three Consolation Prizes to outstanding rooms. The contest encourages unity, hygiene awareness, and environmental responsibility, contributing to a civilized and positive living environment within the dormitory.

An art performance program celebrating the Party and welcoming Spring also takes place in a vibrant setting, featuring songs and performances praising the Party, the homeland, and the country.

Mr. Nguyen Duy, Deputy Head of the Dormitory Management Board, states that the series aims to build a warm and practical community space for resident students. The activities help students relax after studying, connect, and feel the care and companionship of the university, especially those who cannot return home for Tet.

On this occasion, the Dormitory Management Board also provides support packages for resident students in difficult circumstances who remain on campus during the holiday. The initiative reflects solidarity and community responsibility, helping students celebrate a warm and meaningful Tet.
