Tra Vinh University adds internationally accredited program

The Information Technology program under the School of Engineering and Technology at Tra Vinh University (TVU) has recently been recognized as meeting international accreditation standards by ABET. This is also the 13th program at the university to achieve international educational quality accreditation.

On March 3rd, the ABET accreditation organization recognized the Information Technology program under the Faculty of Engineering and Technology meeting international accreditation standards for 2022-2028.

The ABET (Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology) organization is an independent, non-profit organization established in the United States in 1932, responsible for accrediting technical and technological education programs. ABET is a reputable accreditation organization recognized worldwide.

The ABET accreditation of TVU’s Information Technology program meeting international accreditation standards is a commendable achievement for the university, its faculty, and IT students.

The Information Technology program is a 4-year program divided into two stages. The first stage focuses on building basic knowledge and skills in information technology, while the second stage focuses on developing high-level specialized skills and practical experience through internships at companies and organizations to become experts in the field of IT.

To date, TVU has had 13 programs accredited for educational quality by international accreditation organizations such as AUN-QA, FIBAA, and ABET. Among them, 5 programs accredited by AUN-QA are: Agriculture, Aquaculture, Veterinary Medicine, Nursing, and Khmer Language. 7 programs accredited by FIBAA are: Business Administration, Economics, Law, Accounting and Banking Finance, Master of Business Administration, and Master of Economics. The Information Technology program has been accredited by ABET.

Currently, the university is continuing to expand its international educational quality accreditation for its other programs. This demonstrates the university’s commitment to improving the quality of education and training, as well as providing high-level expertise for its students. At the same time, students benefit from graduating from an internationally accredited program, increasing their chances of competitive employment opportunities at reputable companies and organizations in both domestic and international labor markets.
