Ambassador extraordinary and plenipotentiary of Canada to Vietnam visits Tra Vinh University

(TVU) – On the morning of March 12th, H.E. Ms. Deborah Paul, Ambassador extraordinary and plenipotentiary of Canada to Vietnam and the delegation paid a working visit to Tra Vinh University (TVU). Assoc. Prof. Dr. Pham Tiet Khanh-TVU Rector, President of Vietnam–Canada Friendship Association of Tra Vinh province and also Chairman of Vietnam Association of Community Colleges warmly welcomed the Ambassador and the delegation.

Delivering at the opening speech, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Pham Tiet Khanh said: “Since 2001, collaboration between Canadian institutions and Tra Vinh University has yielded remarkable achievements in various fields of education, economy, exchange program, linkage training and vocational development for locals in Tra Vinh province and in the Mekong River Delta. Every year, TVU welcomes experts and volunteers for experience sharing, scientific research and teaching.”

The Ambassador was very happy and highly evaluated the striking and continuous development of Tra Vinh University, especially policy of gender and ethnic issues and model of business incubator.

“With those substantial achievements, Tra Vinh University is on its right way to educational and training career, preparing highly-skilled and qualified human resources that will meet the increasing demand of labor market”, said the ambassador.

TVU development from Vietnam-Canada Community College Project has helped foster the more and more strengthened relationship of the two countries.

On this occasion, the Ambassador and the delegation visited the campus and planted the memorial tree.
