Attended by Ms. Nguyen Thu Hang- officer of International Australia Development office, Ms. Vu Thi Thanh Hoa- Vice Director of ASDiV and the delegation. The workshop also welcomed the attendance of Mr. Bui Van Binh- Vice Director of Tra Vinh Department of Home affairs, Mr. Nguyen Tien Dung- Vice Rector of TVU, representatives of Departments and Offices in Tra Vinh, lecturers and students of TVU.

Australian Scholarship for the Development in Vietnam (ASDiV) is one important part of the bilateral cooperation program between the government of Australia and Vietnam through the collaboration of the AusAid and the Ministry of Education and Training of Vietnam developing human resource of Vietnam to promote the economy of Vietnam and to reduce poverty and eliminate hunger for sustainable development.

At the workshop, Ms. Vu Thi Thanh Hoa and other members of ASDiV presented the details of the Australian Development Scholarships (ADS) and Australian Leadership Award Scholarships (ALAS), the process of nominating and guided how to apply for the scholarships in the year 2012.  So far there have been 4000 students receiving the scholarships in many fields such as education, economics, laws, agriculture, rural development, etc. In 2012, there are 250 scholarships giving for excellent people working in the government and private companies.

Concurrently, at the workshop, Mr. Ngo Duy Anh Triet- a lecturer of faculty of Agriculture and Aquaculture, who got ADS and finished his studying in Australia shared his experiences on applying and participating the program.

On behalf of the organization board, Mr. Nguyen Tien Dung expressed his gratitude to the representatives of ASDiV for coming and giving the presentation and consultancy at TVU. He also encouraged those who are qualified to apply this scholarship as a contributing work to the development of Tra Vinh.
