(TVU) – On December 19, 2024, to promptly support students under challenging circumstances and promote encouraging talents among students, Tra Vinh University organizes a scholarship award ceremony for students of the University and a thematic sharing session on “What to Study and What to Study for?”
The program has the attendance of Prof. Vo Van Truong, former vice president of Concordia University, Canada, Member of the Advisory Council of Tra Vinh University, and other delegation members.
The delegation is welcomed by Mr. Tran Hoan Kim, Chairman of the Advisory Council; Prof. Dr. Pham Tiet Khanh, Chairman of the University Council; Dr. Thach Thi Dan and Dr. Phan Quoc Nghia, Vice Rectors of Tra Vinh University; Dr. Nguyen Tien Dung, Vice Chairman of the Advisory Council, and representatives of the leaders of the school units.
On behalf of the University, Prof. Dr. Pham Tiet Khanh thanks Prof. Vo Van Truong and the sponsors, who always care and are ready to sponsor and support students on their learning path at the School.
Prof. Vo Van Truong is an overseas Vietnamese living and working in Canada. He has accompanied and been attached to Tra Vinh University for many years. With his deep affection and desire to share and help students with difficult circumstances and the will to excel in their studies, the professor always cares and creates conditions to sponsor many scholarships for Tra Vinh University students every year.
At the program, Prof. Vo Van Truong represents the awarding of 32 Fondation de la Chenelière scholarships, 03 Amis de France scholarships, and 01 Nguyen Hoang Anh scholarships with a total value of over 250 million VND.
On behalf of the students receiving the scholarship, Son Ly Quy, majoring in Traditional Musical Instrument Performance, expresses his thanks and joy when he received the scholarship from Prof. Vo Van Truong and the sponsors. “These valuable scholarships create favorable conditions for us during our studies. We promise to study well and be worthy of the support we have received from the University and the sponsors.”
On this occasion, Prof. Vo Van Truong shares the topic “What to study and What to study for?” inspiring the students of Tra Vinh University to study. The professor said: “The important thing in the learning process is to try to learn and ask many questions to develop independent thinking and cultivate useful skills and knowledge.”
